Stage Set for FACETS Sri Lanka 2026

Sri Lanka is set to take centre stage in the global gem and jewellery industry with the opening of FACETS Sri Lanka 2026, the country’s flagship international gem and jewellery exhibition.

The three-day event will be held from 3 to 5 January 2026 at The Forum, Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams, Colombo, and is recognised as the world’s first major international jewellery exhibition of the year. Now in its 33rd year, FACETS Sri Lanka has established itself as one of the region’s most respected and enduring trade exhibitions.

Organised by the Sri Lanka Gem & Jewellery Association (SLGJA), the exhibition serves as a premier platform bringing together the entire industry value chain, including miners, cutters, manufacturers, designers, traders, and international buyers. As the first international jewellery exhibition to open the global trade calendar annually, FACETS plays a pivotal role in shaping industry trends and commercial engagement for the year ahead. Its continued success underscores Sri Lanka’s reputation as a trusted source of high-quality gemstones and fine jewellery.

Speaking ahead of the opening, Akram Cassim, President of the SLGJA, highlighted the significance of the exhibition, noting that FACETS reflects the resilience and global relevance of Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery sector. He said that hosting the event at Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams symbolises a forward-looking vision while remaining firmly rooted in the country’s heritage, integrity, and end-to-end industry strength—from mine to market.

Globally recognised as the Island of Gems, Sri Lanka is renowned for its exceptional sapphires and wide variety of natural gemstones. FACETS Sri Lanka provides an authentic and transparent marketplace where international buyers can engage directly with Sri Lankan exhibitors, reinforcing the country’s standing for ethical sourcing, craftsmanship, and generations of expertise.

Welcoming participants, FACETS Chairman Armil Samoon expressed confidence that the exhibition would facilitate meaningful engagement and strong business interactions. He noted that the event aims to showcase the full breadth and capability of Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry while fostering collaboration and long-term partnerships.

FACETS Sri Lanka 2026 will feature a comprehensive lineup of local exhibitors across the Gem Pavilion, Jewellery Pavilion, and SME Pavilion. In addition to trade displays, the exhibition will host networking sessions and industry-focused engagements designed to promote business growth and international collaboration.

Open to trade visitors, invited guests, and industry professionals, FACETS Sri Lanka 2026 offers a unique opportunity to experience the heritage, excellence, and future potential of Sri Lanka’s gem and jewellery industry, reaffirming the country’s place on the global stage at the very start of the new trading year.
