The Colombo–Kandy main road, which was temporarily closed due to a rockfall in the Kadugannawa area, has been reopened for vehicular traffic. The rockfall occurred yesterday (03) in the Lower Kadugannawa area along the Colombo–Kandy main road as a result of adverse weather conditions.
Following the incident, police temporarily closed the section of the road between Ganethenna and Kadugannawa to ensure public safety.
Police stated that the road was reopened to traffic from 6:00 a.m. today after weather conditions improved and based on recommendations issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO).
